KARACHI: Rangers conducted a search operation in the city’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area on Friday and apprehended six suspects, while police rounded up two more suspects from other parts of the city.
According to sources, workers of two different political groups got into a conflict in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Block 19. A heavy contingent of Rangers reached the area after receiving complaints from the area’s residents to quell the clash. Rangers surrounded the area and conducted a search operation. They also searched residential flats in the vicinity.
Police also took six suspects into custody during the operation and also recovered weapons. All suspects are being said to belong to a political party. Furthermore, police arrested two gang-war suspects in Gulistan-e-Jauhar near the Jauhar Mor area, after a brief encounter with them. A suspect from Lyari’s Kalri area was also taken into custody by the police. According to the police, the suspect belonged to the Baba Ladla group and was involved in extorting money.
