BAGH: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto on Tuesday strongly criticised the federal government, saying Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has ruined the foreign policy of Pakistan.
Addressing election rally here in Azad Jammu Kashmir, he said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would have to answer on Panama Papers. “The government’s boat is shaking. The game is now over for circus lions,” he said, adding that his party wants a fair probe into the revelations of the Panama Papers.
Bilawal also criticized PM Nawaz for neglecting Kashmir. “He (PM) has made Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir a joke,” he said. “He (Nawaz) went too far in his friendship with India that he did not care to meet Kashmiri leaders,” he said. “No leader in the past has ever inflicted such damage on Kashmir,” he said.
The PPP leader termed the general election in the state as equivalent to referendum. “It’s been 67 years and no resolution on Kashmir has ever been implemented,” he said. He said that the Nawaz-led government hasn’t done anything for the people of Kashmir despite being in power for three years.
Without quoting any name, he also said that many countries considering Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi a terrorist. “Whenever I talk about (Indian Prime Minister) Modi, people look in it through the prism of Pakistan-India relations,” he said. He was critical of Narendra Modi and said there were many countries that denied visa to the Indian prime minister.
“India’s foreign policy experts, too, were worried when Modi was elected as their prime minister,” he said. Bilawal stressed on his party’s call to have plebiscite in the state under the United Nations auspices. He also said that his party would free other parts of the divided state soon. He said that ‘agents’ of the Indian intelligence agencies were arrested from mills, owned by Nawaz Sharif.
“His friendship has ruined foreign policy of Pakistan,” he said while hitting out at the prime minister. He (PM)cut the birthday cake of the Indian prime minister but avoided to celebrate Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s birthday. About the upcoming state elections, he said that the Kashmir elections would be historical.
PPP leaders former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and Faryal Talpur also addressed the rally. Gillani expressed extreme joy and happiness over the safe recovery of his son. On the occasion, Talpur said that Bhutto was a name of a vision which will remain alive. “We believe that martyrs never die,” she said.
